No Time Left

Egoic Mind: I’m not getting better.  There’s not enough time.  The Doctor is checking for cancer and other tumors.  My life is a mess.  I’m ruining everyone’s life around me – and hear this all too often.  What if there is no transcendence?  What if enlightenment is a magic act and no one really ever gets rid of this pain body or terrorizing mind?  Or perhaps it is only ME that won’t reach the gateless gate.

Gnani: And perhaps it is YOU who are split in TWO with The Gnani and Ego as two opposing forces.  What makes you think you are not already in Nirvana?  That the Egoic Mind and The Gnani are not actually two but the same coin, the yin-yang?  Dear one, there is only The One and you are only two painfully aware of that Truth.  It is because you have caught a glimpse behind the veil that you are looking through smoky mirrors now and longing for the fog to lift.

But the mist is also The Absolute and it is there for a reason.  Do not try to blow the clouds away, you need not seek the lighthouse to guide you out of the storm.  Be right here, right in the thick of it; motionless, with no desire to move or escape your current situation.  Do what you must to take care of your body and take actions to ease the pain of those around you as best you can.  But do so without trying to run away from your current circumstances.  This is the place you have found yourself.  It is the perfect place for the next chapter to unfold.  It is where You are.

Stop looking for your Self in some future state that exists in the illusion of your mind.  You can never find your Self at some point in the future.  You can not prepare your body/mind to be in a better alignment so that you can find that which you seek.  You are already what you are looking for.  Please, stop your search and look around you.  You have arrived.  You are HOME.

The Next Day

Egoic Mind: I got my test results back from the Doctor’s office and there were no markers for cancer or an adrenal tumor.  My daughter leaves for Italy in less than two weeks.  I wish I was feeling better before she departs.  Lots of mind stuff huh?

Gnani: It’s normal for minds to divide, organize, plan and obsess.  This is what they do when they have been left to their own devises for so long.  Like a wild dog chasing a cat, the wild mind can not be expected to sit still.  The art of stillness must be instilled, rewarded and practiced.  So what are you going to do right now?

Egoic Mind: Breathe.

Gnani: Consider the invisible quality of the breath.  You can not see it in the room with you now, but it is indubitably present is it not?  The vital breath moves through your flesh-body, but what is the source of the breath itself?

Egoic Mind: I do not know.

Gnani: Stay with the emptiness of this not-knowing-ness which is beyond words … and the wild mind in it’s own bewilderment will be silent.
