Sweet Chili

A real favorite with kids this sweet chili recipe takes just minutes to make.

  • 1 cup Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP)
  • 2 TBL dried onion bits
  • 1 TBL dried garlic bits
  • 2 TBL wheat free tamari soy sauce (or 1 tsp salt)
  • 2 TBL margarine (optional)
  • 1 cup boiling spring water
  • 2 cans organic baked beans
  • 1 can organic black beans
  • 1 can organic garbanzo beans
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 can organic stewed tomatoes

Place the TVP in a large bowl and add the onion, garlic, soy sauce and margarine Pour boiling water over TVP and let stand for 5 minutes until most of the water is absorbed. In a large dutch oven combine all of your beans, soup and tomatoes (drain black beans and garbanzo beans before adding to pot.)

Simmer over medium heat about 10 minutes or until heated through. Serve with tofu sour cream, or grated soy cheese.
